Abstract:
The Three Gorges-centered Reservoir System is an important part of the water conservancy project in the Yangtze River Basin and is crucial to the management and protection of the Changjiang Basin.In order to give full play to the flood control role and comprehensive benefits of the Three Gorges-centered Reservoir System, it is necessary to continue to carry out research and practice on the multi-objective joint operation of the cascade reservoir group.The difficulties of multi-objective coordinated operation of the Three Gorges-centered Reservoir System were explained in terms of time and space.The key operation technologies and achievements achieved in recent years in terms of flood control, water storage at the end of the flood season and sediment control were explained, and the positive role of research in promoting the improvement of the multi-objective joint operation level of the Three Gorges-centered reservoir system was clarified.Since the implementation of the multi-objective joint operation of the Three Gorges-centered reservoir system, the allocation of flood control storage capacity of the cascade reservoirs had became more scientific, the utilization of water resources at the end of the flood season had became more sufficient, and the sediment control effect had became more obvious, and significant benefits had been achieved in flood control, hydropower generation, navigation, and water resources utilization.The practical experience of multi-objective joint operation of the Three Gorges-centered Reservoir System was summarized, and the key work direction for the next step was prospected.
