Abstract:
The excavation on the left bank of Zunyi Guanyin Reservoir gravity dam had formed a 122 m dip and oblique-oriented high-steep rock slope, where multiple sets of intersecting fractures and several lithological inter-layers had been developed. These structural features combined with the excavated slope surface to form multiple spatial wedge-shaped potential sliding bodies, posing safety risks to the construction process. To analyze the stability of this slope and develop treatment measures, qualitative analysis by using the stereographic projection method, numerical discrete element simulation of construction excavation, and three-dimensional stability calculation using the wedge method were conducted. The study identified rock blocks that did not meet anti-sliding stability requirements, and support measures of anchor cables+anchor rods+shotcrete were adopted. The results showed that the adopted failure mode analysis was reasonable, and the remediation plan was reliable. No anomalies had occurred after excavation and treatment, confirming the stability of the slope. The research on the stability analysis and treatment measures of this slope can provide a reference for similar projects.
